Dear fellow citizens, on April 20, 2024, we received the long-awaited news. As announced by Yeşilyurt Mayor İlhan Geçit from the most authoritative source (https://www.instagram.com/p/C5_LiprMt_2/?igsh=MTc4MmM1YmI2Ng%3D%3D&img_index=1), work has begun on the zoning plans for Ancient Yeşilyurt. Of course, we are aware that there is still a long way to go, and we have many questions and concerns about how it will turn out. Nevertheless, our hope is that these efforts will lead to a project that, while preserving the historical and cultural features of the region, will be a model for Turkey. Additionally, as stated by Mayor İlhan Geçit, it is of vital importance that the opinions of the local community be considered while preparing the new zoning plans and that citizens receive periodic updates about the processes.
