March 9, 2024, Saturday

On March 9, 2024, Furkan Demirci, Chairman of the Board of the Turkey Design Foundation, General Manager Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serhat Başdoğan, Secretary General Barış Güleç, and Ahmet Yılmaz, founding partner of the architectural firm Mimarlık, which had previously worked in the region after the earthquake, conducted a site visit and inspections in the Çırmıhtı, Gündüzbey, and Yakınca village squares.

The purpose of the visit was for the Turkey Design Foundation to include our Çırmıhtı town in their urban design and improvement efforts conducted in Hatay and Adıyaman following the February 6 earthquakes.

Yeşilyurt Mayor Mehmet Çınar, Zoning Director Rıfat Dağdelen, and Malatya Environmental and Urbanization Provincial Director Cengiz Başer also participated in the discussions to facilitate the proper on-site reconstruction of the region.

The Turkey Design Foundation stated that they would evaluate the inspections and work conducted and would provide information on what actions they could take for the "on-site transformation of the Çırmıhtı region in accordance with its historical and cultural texture" after consulting with the relevant authorities.

Updates will be provided as soon as information becomes available.
