"The Ancient Yeşilyurt Consultative Assembly Convened..."

On June 2, 2024, Sunday, the Muhtars (village heads), association officials, municipal council members from the local community, and the wise representatives of Ancient Yeşilyurt gathered at the Yeşilyurt Municipality Gedik Conference Hall.

The purpose of the meeting was, as previously stated by Yeşilyurt Mayor İlhan Geçit, to facilitate the communication of the opinions and requests of the local community regarding the preparation of the “Ancient Yeşilyurt zoning plan,” to contribute to the on-site transformation of Ancient Yeşilyurt while preserving its historical, cultural, and demographic structure, to act as a bridge between the people and the state during this process, and ultimately to help create a model project worthy of 21st century Turkey.

In the meeting, briefly:

• A representative delegation was selected through a vote of the “Ancient Yeşilyurt Local Initiative Commission.”
• It was decided that the first action of the established Ancient Yeşilyurt Local Initiative Commission would be to visit Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Sami Er and Yeşilyurt Mayor İlhan Geçit.
• It was also decided to ensure that the “Ancient Yeşilyurt Local Initiative Commission” be included in the ongoing plan and project activities through a protocol.
